I am a freelance bassoonist based near Stroud in Gloucestershire.

After growing up in Leicestershire and playing with the Leicestershire Schools’ Symphony Orchestra (LSSO) I was a awarded a scholarship to study bassoon at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.  There I studied with Graham Sheen, Meyrick Alexander, John Orford, Robin O’Neill and Ian Cuthill and graduated with a G.G.S.M. (Graduate of the Guildhall School of Music).  Whilst at music college I was principal bassoonist with the Young Musicians’ Symphony Orchestra (YMSO).

I have performed with many local and regional professional ensembles and orchestras including:

  • Emerald Ensemble (now the Brunel Ensemble)
  • Regency Sinfonia
  • Bath Philharmonia
  • West of England Philharmonic
  • Opera Project
  • Opera della Luna
  • Lochrian Ensemble

I have also performed a number of concertos with the English National Baroque Ensemble at St George’s, Brandon Hill in Bristol and the Octagon Theatre in Yeovil, including  Vivaldi Bassoon Concerto in E minor RV 484, and Vivaldi Oboe and Bassoon Concerto in G major RV 545.
